The closure of Hämeenkatu, the main thoroughfare in the center of Tampere, is extremely rare. An exceptional situation can be caused by a significant traffic disturbance, such as a protest, damage to the tram track or an accident. The lines passing through Hämeenkatu must then be moved to alternative routes.

Buses follow planned detours as far as possible. Exception routes do not appear in Nysse route and timetable services, as the situations are usually sudden and short-lived. Exceptions also cause delays in schedules, and it can take several hours for the service to return to normal.

A red tram and a blue bus are running on Hämeenkatu. There are people waiting for the tram at the tram stop. Tampere railway station can be seen in the back.

Head to Hämeenpuisto or Ratina

In the exceptional situation of Hämeenkatu, the Keskustori, Koskipuisto and Rautatieasema stops as well as the Tuulensuu tram stops will most likely be closed.

  • Buses 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 19 will past the center on the route Hämeenpuisto - Ratinanranta - Ratina.
  • Buses 6, 40, 90 and 93 will run to Sorin aukio via university.
  • Buses 5, 31, 32, 50 and 52 will go as far as Ratina. The lines use the stops behind and in front of the bus station.
  • Buses 70, 72, 80, 81 and 82 will run to Pyynikintori, or Hämeenpuisto to Tuulensuu stops.

The tram service will be interrupted on the route section between Pyynikintori/Sorin aukio and Sammonaukio.

View the pre-planned detours in the map service. You can display one or several lines at a time.

Please note that the routes may change depending on the situation. Please follow the information in the Nysse Journey Planner, on the Nysse website and on the bus stop and cabin screens.
