Spring 2025

The spring season starts on Tuesday January 7, 2025 and ends on Sunday June 1, 2025. The lines will be partly the same as in the autumn season 2024. The biggest changes are related to the extension of the tram network in western Tampere.

Tram line 1 will start operating to Lentäväniemi and at the same time new transfer and service lines will start in the west. Some bus routes will be removed from the tram route altogether. The eastern and southern routes of the discontinued lines have been reconnected to other lines.

The Tampere City Regional Public Transport Committee decided on the service for the autumn and spring seasons on 21 February 2024.

Changes for the spring season

These changes will take place on 7 January 2025:

  • The tram line 1 will continue from Santalahti to Lentävänniemi.
  • New lines 20, 21, 23, and 24 will start in the Lentävänniemi - Lielahti area. Line 20 will operate at night and during tram service interruptions. 
  • Line 8 will be withdrawn from the route Keskustori - Pirkkala. It will be replaced by connections to Annala and Hervanta.
  • Line 17 will be extended from Vehmainen via Kaukajärvi to Hervanta.
  • Line 30 will start on the route Kyösti - Pirkkala - Tampere, Pyynikintori.
  • The route of line 81 will be shortened to Hiedanranta.

The spring timetable is available on the map service, which works best on larger screens. The timetables will be published during autumn 2024 on the Nysse timetable service and in the journey planner.

Renewed lines

  • Line 8A Haukiluoma - Tesoma - Keskustori - Kaukajärvi - Annala
  • Line 8B Haukiluoma - Tesoma - Central Market - Kaukajärvi - Annala - Rusko - Hervanta
  • Line 17 Kaupin Campus - Linnainmaa - Vehmainen - Kaukajärvi - Finninmäki - Hervanta - Hermia

Western Tampere and Ylöjärvi

  • Tram 1 Lentävänniemi - Hiedanranta - Santalahti - Keskustori - Rautatieasema - Kaupin kampus
  • Night bus 20 Lentävänniemi - Lielahti - Santalahti - Pyynikintori - Keskustori
  • Transfer line 21 Ryydynpohja - Lielahti - Hiedanranta
  • Transfer line 22 Siivikkala - Pohtola - Lielahti - Hiedanranta
  • Service line 23 Reuharinniemi - Lielahti
  • Service line 24 Lentävänniemi - Lielahti
  • Transfer line 81 Asuntila - Ylöjärvi - Hiedanranta

End of service

Line 8 no longer operates between Central Square (Keskustori) - Pirkkala. The service will be replaced by line 30.

Lines 9, 19 and 38 will be discontinued. The service will be replaced in the west by tram 1. The eastern and southern routes of the lines have been combined with the other lines as follows:

  • Keskustori - Annala route of line 9 has been connected to line 8A
  • The route of line 19 Keskustori - Annala - Rusko - Hervanta is connected to line 8B.
  • Linnainmaa - Hervanta section of line 38 is connected to line 17

On line 12, the section Reuharinniemi - Ryydynpohja - Lielahti - Finlayson is removed. The service will be replaced by lines 21 and 23 and tram 1. Line 12 will continue to operate on the route between Pirkkala and Tampere.

Nysse lines for the spring season 2025

Nysse service does not include trains or services provided by other public authorities or municipalities based on public service contracts or market conditions (e.g. bus lines U43, U56, U57, 60-69 and U87). The responsibility for planning these lines lies with the operator or the transport contractor.
