Updated on November 21,2023 at 02:38pm: the industrial action has been announced to extend to all bus and tram services in the Nysse area.
The political strike, which originally concerned Tampereen Ratikka and Tampere City Transport (TKL) bus routes, also affects private transport operators. The extension of the strike means that, in addition to the tram services, the entire bus service in the Nysse area will be covered by the strike on Thursday 23 November 2023. Some of the buses are being operated by drivers who are at work.
The strike will affect Nysse services from Thursday, November 23,2023 from 02 am until Friday, November 24. at 01:59 am. On Thursday, departures before 02 am will still run to their terminals. On Friday, services will start at 03:45 am.
Lines to be operated
Operators have informed that the following lines will operate normally during the strike:
- TKL: lines 37, 39 ja 86
- Valkeakosken Liikenne: lines 47, 95A, 95X, 95R and 95KUTSU (Nyssykkä).
Individual shifts may be operated on other lines depending on the number of drivers coming to work.
Commuter trains are not affected by the strike. On journeys between Nokia, Lempäälä, Orivesi, Tesoma and Tampere stations you can use Nysse ticket products except for the contactless payment. For train services, the ticket machine is located at the station platform, i.e. the right to travel is confirmed before boarding the train.
The so-called U-lines (43U, 56U, 57U, 60U, 68U, 69U, 87U, 95U and 96U) are not ordered by Nysse. For information on these lines, please contact the operators directly.
Follow the journey planner for up-to-date information
Customers are advised to be prepared for major disruptions to services. Where possible, car-sharing and working from home is recommended.
All bus services have been cancelled from the Nysse journey planner, and tram services will be cancelled by Wednesday 22 November at 4 p.m. After that time, the journey planner will be updated with the number of services to be operated as operators see the number of drivers coming on duty. The information in the journey planner will therefore continue to be updated even on the day of the strike.
Passengers are advised to check their own departure information just before departure. You can see the traffic situation on your line by selecting the stop you want to use in the journey planner.
We advise customers to be prepared for major disruptions in traffic. Where possible, car-sharing and working from home are recommended.
On the Nysse's Disruptions page, not all cancelled services are shown due to the large number of cancelled services. On the X-message service Nysseinfo, cancelled services are exceptionally not shown at all during a strike day.
Any refund policy for season tickets will be announced on the Nysse website after the situation has ended.
